Bench Lakes

The top picture is the view for much of our hike, the middle picture is the view from our camping spot, and the third is the dogs relaxing after a day working out in the mountains.

Memorial Day Weekend

Image
We hiked near GrandJean campground. This is the first place Ernie quickly chewed through his leash. It took about 3 seconds. The new tree growth in the area is amazing! They were over 3 feet tall and thick!

Skiing Grand Targhee

Image
We skii'd Grand Targhee a full day of about 4 hours on Friday, and a half day of 3 hours on Saturday. The mountain was less challenging than Jackson Hole, but the snow was far superior! We had some great turns both days with freshies both days!

Skiing Jackson Hole

Image
These are the views from our one day of sunshine! What a nice day, good snow, and challenging runs! We skii'd about 4 hours that first day, and I think we skii'd the majority of the mountain.

The Tetons

Image
The sun came out only for Thursday, and we drove by the majestic mountains in time for a good pic!

Cabin in Jackson

Image
We recently traveled to Jackson, WY, for a ski trip and catch up with friends from MN. We got this little cabin, and it was fabulous! This is at The Cowboy Village in Jackson. We arrived there Wed, visited with Phillip and Lora (from the Duluth area) on Wed and Thurs nights, and did some skiing at Jackson Hole as well as Grand Targhee. The timing was great, so was the snow!

Labor Day Bert

Image
Bert boy loved his camping trip, and the lucky little boy got a new bed for more comfort!

Baker Lake Hike Labor Day Weekend

Image
This was a nice hike in the Ketchum area. It was 2 miles and 880 feet from the trailhead to the lake. The trail was busier as the day progressed. At a good pace, it was 45 minutes up, 33 minutes down, and time spent going around the lake plus a picnic at it. The far end of the lake was a bit more technical with the scree (which I do not know how to spell). Bert wasn't fond of this section, but boy is he ever a trooper! Bert then cooled off in the lake and took in all the sounds. Surprising he didn't catch any fish. The cut throat trout were plentiful, and within 2 feet of the shore.

Summer Wildflowers

Image
The flowers were plentiful this year, and so pretty.

Reminiscing summer trips

Image
Photo with Bert in the boat is in June on Stanley Lake. He loves the boat! Photo with Larry in the boat is the following June weekend on Warm Lake. It was free fishing day, but we didn't have any luck. This panoramic photo was taken of Imogene Lake on the 4th of July this summer. This panoramic photo was taken in late July from Observation Peak.

View of The Temple

Image
This was a great view to see why these peaks are referred to as The Temple .

View of Twin Lakes

Image
This photo was taken from Snowyside Pass, Twin Lakes are the lakes just prior to Alice Lake on the hike back to Pettit Lake.

Here we are at Cramer Divide, with The Temple in the background.

Tired Little Bert Boy

This is Bert after hiking down to Toxaway Lake. He got help to get to this location, but loved it once there. He didn't move until other backpackers came by to borrow some olive oil.
